Sun 9th	MedEqip4kids The Big Bike Ride Manchester-Chester Take on the 54-mile route from Lancashire County Cricket Ground to Cheshire County Sports Club. You will cycle through beautiful Cheshire countryside as you leave the hustle and bustle of Manchester for the historic city of Chester. Registration is just £15 per cyclist and we ask you to raise a minimum of £35 in sponsorship. Please note: you can register on the day of the event, but will need to pay a £18 registration fee.

The rear stays on my city bike have separated from the seat post, giving the bike an unexpected rear suspension feel... It is now at Withington Cycles, where frame builder Malc Cowle will be braising it back together.

Cycle Fest 2004 St.Martin's College, Lancaster. I went on an all day folding bike ride, a talk by a Trice recumbent Trike talk, the British Human Power Club races at the Salt Ayre track and tried out a KMX Kart

National Bike Week 1-5.30pm, Sat 12^th June, New Cathedral Gardens, sponsored fancy dress cycle from Albert Square to New Cathedral Gardens raising money for the British Heart Foundation - Hoot For Your Heart - all cyclists will have hooters to raise awareness as they travel through the city centre, plus stalls, music, a variety of bikes, street theatre and kids holding banners.

Draft Proposal for legislation

All cars should have tubes fitted to pass all exhaust gasses to a respirator for the driver, so that any polutants have been first cleaned by the drivers lungs

A modest proposal ?

Cycling to from Manchester (10am at Chorlton Water Park Car Park, access via Maitland Road) to the Bells at Lower Peover and back with the - Dawdling Doctors.

Round trip c. 50 miles

My latest aquisition (via ebay) is a Trice XL NT.

Like most recumbents it is fast (but maybe not quite as fast as a windcheetah). However when hill climbing, you get no aerodynamic benefit, but are slowed up by the extra weight.

This Trice is very comfortable, but not easily foldable (as the Hase Lepus is, or more recent Trices may be).

So far I have cycled it home from Birmingham (80 miles) and some local trips - hope to make it to Cyclefest with it in august

I have been to the velodrome once on a tryout sessions - great fun, but like parachuting - a one off for me.
